  • Caitlyn is coming soon as part of Patch 2.5a
  • She sports an updated look and model in "Wild Rift," though her abilities are expected to remain mostly the same
  • Jayce will also be coming to "Wild Rift" soon

After months of rumors and speculations, AD Marksman Caitlyn is finally getting added to the “Wild Rift” roster alongside Jayce in the upcoming Patch 2.5a.

The latest update will introduce the Piltovian champions to the game’s growing list of playable characters as it slowly catches up with the PC version of “League of Legends.” As with the rest of the mobile version’s champions, Caitlyn and Jayce have received cleaner-looking models, though the former appears to have had a lot more work done to her.

Caitlyn in “Wild Rift” sports a noticeably different look from her PC counterpart. Her original and outdated design has been modernized to match Riot Games’ current standards, changing her frilly and revealing dress to something that’s more fitting for a high-ranking law enforcer.

The sheriff’s new look isn’t too far away from her original appearance. Caitlyn retains her signature top hat and purple motif, but she now wears leggings, a fabric gorget and a dress that’s much less exaggerated compared to her original model.

This new character model may indicate that Caitlyn’s PC counterpart will receive the same treatment. The character design and aesthetics are mostly consistent between “Wild Rift” and the original “League of Legends,” although the former enjoys the benefit of having improved character models since Riot had to rebuild the game from scratch.

Riot Games hasn’t revealed Caitlyn’s full kit for “Wild Rift” as of writing, but most of her abilities are expected to remain the same or with only minor differences when compared to her PC version.

For those who don’t know, Caitlyn is a Marksman champion with the longest base auto-attack range in “League of Legends.” Her playstyle revolves around pelting enemies with her basic attacks, controlling the battlefield with traps and eliminating targets with a single, powerful shot from her long-ranged ultimate.

Apart from the new champions, Patch 2.5a will also add the Bewitching skin for Janna and the Underworld skins for both Twisted Fate and Wukong. Fans can also expect the usual roll-out of balance changes that comes with every patch.

Caitlyn will be playable on “Wild Rift” starting Nov. 9.
