The LG V40 ThinQ is expected to be officially announced tomorrow but new information has leaked about its camera setup. The upcoming LG Android phone will arrive with a total of five cameras and the lenses of the shooters have been revealed.

The LG V40 ThinQ will have a standard camera, a super wide-angle and a telephoto zoom lens on its back, according to notorious leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks). The inclusion of a telephoto zoom lens on one of the cameras on the V40 ThinQ is a new addition since LG’s smartphones typically only have the super wide-angle and the standard lenses. The triple cameras on the V40 ThinQ should be more than enough to handle almost any situation to take a good photo.

As for the front-facing cameras, the LG V40 ThinQ will arrive with dual lenses. One will have a standard lens and the other will have a super wide-angle lens. The super wide-angle lens should make it easier to fit more people in a group selfie, while the standard lens should be more than enough for taking selfies or for having video calls.

Blass didn’t mention how many megapixels these shooters are equipped with, but previous rumors suggest that the front-facing cameras will have 8-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. As for the triple-camera setup on the back, it’s believed that it will have two 12MP sensors and one 16MP sensor.

Information on the camera setup on the LG V40 ThinQ isn’t the only thing that’s been reported about the upcoming flagship phone. LG has also announced that the V40 ThinQ will have a new built-in camera feature called Cine Shot. This new feature allows users to make cinemagraphs right on the phone. For those unaware, cinemagraphs are GIF-like images that include looped moving elements along with stationary or still subjects.

To make a cinemagraph in the LG V40 ThinQ, users will only have to open the camera app and enable Cine Shot mode. Users will then have to keep the camera still and hold the shutter button for six seconds. After the image has been taken, users will be able to highlight parts of the image they want to have motion. Android Authority was able to try out this new feature and said that it worked “very well.”

Some would argue that this new Cine Shot feature is a bit gimmicky, but its does add a layer of fun in taking images on a smartphone. After all, LG’s V-series has always catered to creators and photographers, and it looks like the LG V40 ThinQ is no exception.

The LG V40 ThinQ is expected to be officially announced tomorrow during a press event in New York City.
