“Riverdale” star Lili Reinhart recently fired back at a fan who called her and her co-star, Cole Sprouse, “disgusting and rude” after an encounter in Vancouver.

On her Twitter account, the 20-year-old actress explained to her millions of fans what exactly transpired during their encounter with the fan. According to Reinhart, the alleged fan approached them and hugged them as if they have known each other for a long time. The actress called this move “not cool and inappropriate.”

Sprouse then asked the fan if they know each other, and this caught her off-guard. Towards the end of her lengthy tweet, Reinhart acknowledged the fact that it’s very easy for people to make actors look bad when they don’t get their attention. But she decided to call out the fan so that everyone would know what really happened.

Prior to Reinhart’s tweet, the fan shared her experience from their “meet up” via her now-private account. She admitted that she was intoxicated and approached Sprouse as if they knew each other personally. The fan also claimed that Sprouse asked her who she was when she approached him. She felt it was a very rude response and decided to walk away.

A Reinhart and Sprouse supporter took a screenshot of the fan’s tweets so that there could be some clarity between the two parties. But the supporter immediately took Reinhart’s side and praised her for standing up for the people that she cares about.

Meanwhile, Reinhart’s Betty and Sprouse’s Jughead are a popular couple among “Riverdale” fans. In fact, Season 2 newcomer Vanessa Morgan, who is expected to stir the pot as Toni Topaz, has already received some death threats from Bughead shippers.

While speaking with Glamour, Morgan said, “I might stir up the bot a bit with the Bughead relationship. There might be a little love triangle. I’ve already had some death threats. But the thing is, it’s half death threats because they don’t want that actually happening, and there’s half that’s just all love.”

“Riverdale” Season 2 will premiere on The CW on Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EDT.
