Liverpool Boss Gets Honest About Club's Chances For Highly-Touted English Youngster

England's campaign in the 2022 World Cup ended in disappointment after falling to eventual first runner-up nation France in the quarterfinals, but the hype train for a Jude Bellingham transfer continues to chug along – which includes Liverpool.

Club boss Jurgen Klopp recently spoke about Bellingham's upside and the German manager had nothing but nice words for the English midfielder.

"He played an exceptional World Cup. Absolutely exceptional. With all the things he has and things he can improve, to describe him I would say the things he can do are difficult to learn, and the things he can improve are easy to learn. So, yes, he is a really good player," Klopp said as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.

"What can I say? I have thought that already for two or three years since he had his breakthrough at Dortmund. Everybody knew already but I have no idea what that means for the money side of it."

Bellingham was a key piece for Gareth Southgate's side during the World Cup despite only scoring one goal throughout the tournament as he had his fingerprints all over most of England's scoring opportunities.

Ahead of the World Cup final, Bellingham was awarded a spot on CBS Sports' team of the tournament alongside the likes of France's Antoine Griezmann and Morocco's Sofyan Amrabat.

Bellingham was a disruptive force on both ends of the field with "more tackles to his name than Amrabat and Tchouameni, more assists than [Luka] Modric, more successful take-ons than [Kevin] De Bruyne," according to CBS Sports.

With such a big performance in the global soccer tournament, it is becoming even more apparent that the German Bundesliga star could be in the midst of a massive transfer offer either this coming winter window or in the summer.

As mentioned by Klopp earlier, Bellingham's value in the transfer market could reach astronomical heights, but not for Liverpool though.

Spanish sports publication AS reported Bellingham has his eyes on joining formidable La Liga side Real Madrid on a deal that could go as high as £100 million ($120 million).

This would effectively put big-name clubs like Manchester United and Klopp's Liverpool out of the equation as Real Madrid made a massive splash in the summer transfer window by selling Casemiro to the former.

Klopp is not that worried though about the money, but more on Bellingham's development.

"I really think if we all want to do him a favor then we do not talk too much about money. I mean that from an England point of view. Do not throw any hurdles in his development," he later added.
