Diogo Jota might have found a different motivation while dealing with his injury.

Though it took a couple of games before the Jota managed to make his presence felt in Liverpool’s ongoing campaign, the Portuguese striker seems to be regaining his rhythm as he notched his first goal since his return against his former team Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.

But prior to Jota’s return to Molineux Stadium, David Novo, the executive editor of Portugal's leading sports newspaper Diario Record who has been following his career, weighed in on the goalscorer’s return.

According to Novo, Jota was able to keep a positive mentality despite being away from the sport because of his “laid-back” personality and his newly-found inspiration.

“Of course the injury was really bad luck for him and for Liverpool because without that we could see Diogo [Jota] scoring a lot more and being decisive in helping Jurgen Klopp’s team to achieve better results,” Nove told Liverpool Echo. “I remember speaking to Diogo when he was young and before he got to this level but when you see him doing interviews on television you can see that he is a nice guy and he’s still really humble and laid back.”

“Also, he became a father last month and as a father myself I know that when that happens you change emotionally, for the better,” the journalist added. “That obviously had a huge impact on his personal life and helps him to maintain perspective when it came to dealing with his injury."

“When you look at his social media there’s been a few pictures about his recovery and the baby and I think it shows that he remained happy and focused at a time that he was not playing because we all know that when footballers are not on the pitch they can get a little bit down."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, on the other hand, is trying to be as considerate as possible with regards to Jota.

However, Klopp admitted that the Reds really need the striker’s contribution, and prior to Jota’s sensational goal against Wolves, he already envisioned the 24-year-old playing “all three positions” in the front.

"What does he bring? His qualities,” the manager told Liverpool’s official website ahead of the Wolves match. “He can play upfront in all three positions, he played all three positions for us and that is already really helpful. He can play them on a really high level, so he makes us stronger, which is really good.

“Now he should be fine again,” he added. “It is really important that we have him back for plenty of reasons."
