  • Trae Young hit the game-winner in Game 1 of the Hawks-Knicks series
  • Young taunted New York fans after the game-winner
  • A capture of what Young might have said surfaced on social media

The Atlanta Hawks secured a pulsating Game 1 win over the New York Knicks in their Eastern Conference first-round playoff series on Sunday behind Trae Young's game-winner.

The Hawks star scored a floater with 0.9 seconds left, pushing Atlanta ahead, 107-105, to take the series opener on the road.

He finished with 32 points, 10 assists, and seven rebounds, none bigger than his last-second bucket.

Young first evaded the defense of Frank Ntilikina, who was inserted for the defensive assignment, before hoisting a one-hander over fellow All-Star Julius Randle.

After making the go-ahead shot, Young made sure to talk some smack to the thousands of fans inside the Madison Square Garden.

The Ringer's Shea Serrano captured the moment pointed out by GQ Magazine's Tyler Tynes, trying to analyze and lip-read what Young could have said.

"It's quiet as f--- in here," Young likely said while gesturing to shush the Knicks crowd as a way to get in their heads.

Alec Burks top-scored for the Knicks with 27 points off the bench, while Randle added 15 plus 12 boards.

The possession was the only minutes of Ntilikina in the game--his playoff debut.

New York, the fourth seed, will have an opportunity to salvage a 1-1 tie before flying to Atlanta for Games 3 and 4.

As for Young, a follow-up performance in Game 2 would definitely silence the crowd again and avoid his taunting to backfire.
