  • The YouTuber was called "tone-deaf" for her sentiments on racism

Days after her controversial white privilege post, Lori Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade, donated to the National Bail Out Fund.

The YouTuber took to Instagram Stories to share that she had just donated to the bail fund by doing the BLM Donation Challenge, which is accompanied by a filter. The organization is trying to raise money for detained protesters of the Black Lives Matter movement.

Olivia Jade also challenged her sister Bella Rose Giannulli, boyfriend Jackson Guthy, and pals Kaysan and Stassie Karanikolaou to also donate to the cause, Us Weekly reported. The 20-year-old made the contribution in the wake of George Floyd’s murder at the hands of police authorities, which sparked protests across the United States.

Meanwhile, Olivia Jade recently faced backlash for her statement on white privilege, with some people calling her "tone-deaf" and "clueless" about what’s really happening. She made her sentiments on racism known after her parents, Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded guilty to accusations of paying a $500,000-bribe to ring leader Rick Singer for their children’s slot in the University of Southern California. Their case was part of the college admissions scandal that was uncovered last year and involved more than 50 others.

“As a person who was born into privilege based on my skin color & financial situation, I was not always aware that these issues were still so present. And that makes me feel awful. But that also fuels me,” Olivia Jade wrote in her post.

Due to Floyd's death and the protests, the social media star said she wanted to learn more and do better “for all my beautiful black friends and any other person who faces discrimination.” Loughlin’s daughter then urged her fans to speak out whenever they see injustices and to correct others when they say disrespectful things.

However, despite her intentions, Olivia Jade received serious backlash from people who have yet to forget what Loughlin and Giannulli did just so their kids could enter a prestigious school. One Twitter user, @witchchesters, called the Instagram personality the “definition of white privilege.”

“[H]er parents cheated her way into a school and only got 2 months in jail..she is not allowed to speak on the matter,” the user added.

User @BengalCsg said Olivia Jade is so tone-deaf and needs a reality check.
