  • The Devil may take Chole out on a beautiful date in “Lucifer” Season 5

  • The producers have shared a behind-the-scenes picture online

  • Eve will be back for a special episode

“Lucifer” Season 5 is expected to release sometime later in 2020, and the producers have been keeping the fans engaged by sharing updates online. A new behind-the-scenes picture has been released online that teases a romantic date for the Devil (Tom Ellis) and detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German).

Responding to a challenge to share the last normal photo on his phone, executive producer Joe Henderson shared a picture of the last photo from the production set of the show before the filming was stopped due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The picture shows Ellis and German relaxing on the green grass with a beautiful landscape behind them. “We shut down production soon after, but God what a gorgeous day,” Henderson wrote in the post. He also praised the two lead actors in the post for looking good in their respective costumes.

What are Lucifer and Chole doing in such a beautiful location? The two characters may be on a date, which is something the Devil has been planning for a long time. A deleted scene from Season 4 that was released on Entertainment Weekly, shows Ellis’ character asking his partner out for a date.

In the episode “Somebody's Been Reading Dante's Inferno,” Lucifer asked Chloe out on a date, and she agreed. He took her to San Francisco to watch the opera. The deleted scene shows the Devil asking the detective if she is afraid of heights and if she is allergic to latex.

By now Lucifer should have a good understanding of what Chloe’s ideal date would look like. The behind-the-scenes picture may be about the Devil finally taking the detective out on a date that she will remember forever.

There may be some complications in the romantic relationship of the Devil and the detective because Inbar Lavi will be reprising her role one last time, Entertainment Weekly reported. A preview still of the character shows her lying in the bed in a seductive pose. Eve has a complicated relationship with her ex, and her return also has implications for Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt).

“Lucifer” Season 5 is likely to air sometime in 2020. The producers are yet to announce an exact release date.
