Musician Machine Gun Kelly appeared on “Saturday Night Live” and performed songs from his fifth studio album "Tickets to My Downfall."

The appearance on the late-night comedy-sketch show immediately drew attention on social media.

"Saturday Night Live" can propel musicians into stronger mainstream status, as the long-running NBC program has a viewing audience of about 8 million.

Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Richard Colson Baker, is a rapper/singer and actor, who has been in the spotlight since 2012, when he released his first studio album. "Tickets to My Downfall" earned him his first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200.

"I've sold over 20 million records right now," he proclaimed in 2018 on the New York radio show, "The Breakfast Club." It's unclear if that number was accurate.

MGK has also appeared in several television shows and movies, including a brief appearance in "The King of Staten Island," which starred "Saturday Night Live" cast member Pete Davidson. In 2017, he signed an endorsement deal with sports apparel company Reebok.

The 30-year-old’s net worth is around $10 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth, though estimates by the website are often subject to debate.

MGK's latest album, “Tickets To My Downfall,” was released in September and included hit singles including “My Ex’s Best Friend” and “Lonely,” which he performed on Saturday.

“Lonely” is about the death of his late father, who was a missionary and suffered from depression.

MGK tweeted about watching the show with his father when he was younger.

MGK is dating actor Megan Fox, who was also in New York for this performance Saturday.

Actor John Krasinski hosted Saturday's show, which was the first new episode of 2021.
