A modest clothing line aimed at attracting female Muslim shoppers is heading to Macy's, dubbed Verona Collection.

The department store confirmed the news Feb. 1 in a move that would help to "nurture and support minority and women-owned businesses," said Shawn Outler, Macy's executive vice president of Licensed Businesses, Food Services and Multicultural Initiatives. The line is set to feature items such as dresses, cardigans, pants, tops and hijabs in an assortment of colors.

Lisa Vogl, the founder of Verona Collection, is a 2017 graduate of The Workshop at Macy's. Birthed in 2011, the program works towards developing both minority and women-owned business.

"Verona Collection is more than a clothing brand," Vogl said in a statement. "It's a platform for a community of women to express their personal identity and embrace fashion that makes them feel confident on the inside and outside."

"Macy's has been an amazing partner, helping us strengthen the foundation of our business through The Workshop at Macy's and now introducing our brand to their consumers through this collaboration," Vogl added.

Verona Collection will only be available for purchase online, a Macy's spokesperson confirmed to International Busines Times. Clothing items, however, are expected to be priced between $12.95 to $84.95.

Macy's previously closed more than 100 locations in 2016, which was 15 percent of the company's base at the time, Business Insider reported. This move was a part of the company's plan to scale back its large lineup of stores and slash expenses.

"We operate in a fast-changing world, and our company is moving forward decisively to build further on Macy's heritage as a preferred shopping destination for fashion, quality, value and convenience," Terry J. Lundgren, Macy's chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement. "This involves doing things differently and making tough decisions as we position ourselves to serve customers who have high expectations of their favorite stores, online sites and apps."

In following through with this initiative, the retailer also shutdown approximately a dozen additional stores earlier this year.

Macy's currently boasts nearly 670 stores across 45 states nationwide, Washington D.C., Guam and Puerto Rico.
