Mama June Shannon is currently living the casino life with boyfriend Geno Doak. Because of her gambling problem, she is prohibited from touching Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson’s money by the latter’s guardian.

Over the weekend, sources disclosed to tabloid news outlet TMZ that the people who are taking care of Alana while Mama June is away have decided to protect the young reality star’s earnings from her mother.

As revealed in the finale of “Mama June: From Not To Hot” Season 3, Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, 19, was granted temporary custody over her 13-year-old sister due to Mama June’s legal problems. The titular star and her ex-convict beau were apparently arrested for drug-related charges back in March.

In addition, Mama June has opted to ditch her family and be with Geno while awaiting ttrial. She did so even though a judge ordered Geno to stay away from Mama June after he threatened to kill the television personality during a domestic dispute.

Since Mama June is not showing signs of remorse and she’s still with Geno, an attorney was recently tapped by Alana’s family to move all the money the young star earned into a new account that is not accessible to Mama June.

The move was done because Pumpkin and the rest of the family are reportedly afraid that Mama June might try and use Alana’s assets to fund her gambling and her problematic lifestyle with her boyfriend.

Since Pumpkin is the legal guardian of Alana at present, she is the only one who has been granted access to the funds. However, Lauryn is only allowed to use the money for Alana’s needs. She even needs to show some proof and receipts whenever she obtains money from the account.

Last month, the former “Toddlers & Tiaras” star seemingly threw shade at Mama June when she wrote on social media that she does not “need people who do not need me.” Some fans assumed that it was for Mama June since she was the one who abandoned Alana when she chose to be with Geno.

In addition, Alana also shared a picture of herself with Pumpkin, her sister’s husband Joshua Efird and their daughter, Ella Grace. She captioned her post “#FamilyFirst” and fans took it as a sign that Honey Boo Boo now considers her sister’s pack as her immediate family since Mama June is out of the picture.
