Honey Boo Boo Calls Sister Pumpkin Her ‘BFF’ And Ignores Mama June

Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson appears to be over the moon now that she has her sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon as her legal guardian while Mama June Shannon is away.

On Friday, the former “Toddlers & Tiaras” star took to Instagram to share a picture of her and Pumpkin sitting side by side. In the snap, Alana is smiling while looking at the camera while her older sister is looking to the side as though she’s talking to someone who is out of the frame.

Honey Boo Boo captioned her post “My BFF” and she also used the small black heart emoji. It appears Alana and Lauryn have gotten closer and fostered a more loving relationship now that they only have each other to look after. As for Mama June, Alana hasn’t been posting about her at all.

Early this month, Pumpkin did voice her hope for the family drama to be over soon on Twitter. She tweeted that she’s staying strong and she trusts that the day will come when “the weight of the last few weeks will be lifted off” her shoulders.

In the finale of “Mama June: From Not To Hot” Season 3, it was revealed that Pumpkin, 19, has been granted temporary custody over her 13-year-old sister because Mama June has chosen to be with her felon boyfriend Geno Doak.

The last episode of the season featured an intervention that Pumpkin, Honey Boo Boo, their sister Jessica and Mama June’s sister Joanne “Doe Doe” Shannon staged for the troubled matriarch. It was their final attempt at opening Mama June’s eyes to her messy situation and getting her back from Geno.

Even though Mama June agreed to check herself into an in-patient treatment facility in North Carolina after much prodding by her family, she ultimately decided to leave the center less than a day later to be with Geno. The two of them were then arrested two days later in an Alabama gas station over drug-related charges.

The arrest apparently happened two days before the WE tv show’s premiere in March since the recently concluded installment was filmed late last year until early this year. At present, the same problem still persists. Mama June is sill with Geno and they are reportedly staying at a local hotel and casino together. On the other hand, Alana continues to be stay with Pumpkin.
