A man killed his wife over her obsession with Facebook. The incident took place in the western Indian state of Rajasthan on Sunday.

According to police, the victim, identified as Naina Manglani, moved to her mother’s home a few days after having regular fights with her husband, Ayaz Ahmed Ansari. On Sunday morning, the accused informed his wife that he wanted to meet her in order to sort out the differences between them. The couple, who had a three-month-old son, spent some quality time together and at night the accused strangled his wife to death on a highway.

“He threw her in the roadside bushes in an isolated area and even smashed her face with a heavy object in order to hide her identity. However, her body was spotted by a passerby and further investigations led us to Ansari. He was arrested late on Monday night,” a police officer said.

The accused confessed to the crime during interrogation and said that he and his wife had frequent arguments over her phone addiction. He added that his wife was obsessed with Facebook and that he was fed up of it. The man remained in jail as of Tuesday.
