A man in the Indian state of Haryana was booked Monday for raping and impregnating his minor daughter.

The unidentified 17-year-old victim said her father assaulted her mother and threw her out of the home on June 11, 2018. The same night, he raped her.

"The same night, my father raped me and threatened to kill me if I told anyone. After that he continued to sexually abuse me as I was scared of disclosing my plight to anyone," the victim told local daily the Times of India.

A few months later, the accused rushed his daughter to a local hospital after she complained of severe stomach pain. Medical examination revealed that the girl was pregnant. After returning home, the accused “forcefully fed" the victim a pill which led to an abortion.

In February, the victim’s mother returned home. After the accused continued to assault the woman, she decided to move to her brother’s home along with the victim and her sisters. Earlier this month, when the mother insisted on moving back with her husband, the victim narrated the ordeal following which a police complaint was filed.

The accused was booked and charged with rape and criminal intimidation amongst other charges. He was also charged under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The investigation into the case was ongoing.
