  • Cristiano Ronaldo has been one of the most active Manchester United players
  • Red Devils boss Ralf Rangnick comments on the idea of resting Ronaldo
  • The 63-year-old still see the need to find the "best solutions" to club's in-game issues

Cristiano Ronaldo may still be spearheading Manchester United’s frontline as the club tries to maintain its commendable form.

Manchester United has been doing a lot better under the management of Ralf Rangnick.

As it stands, the Red Devils have gone 3-0 in the English Premier League since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s departure with Ronaldo leading the way in the club’s latest win over Norwich City.

Since making his return in August, Ronaldo has been regularly playing for Manchester United, having started in 11 of his 13 league games to date.

Atop that, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was also featured in five UEFA Champions League matches this season.

Quizzed to comment about his thoughts on the 36-year-old’s playing time, Rangnick admitted that he really can’t tell whether he would like to rest Ronaldo or not as the Portuguese has been a pillar of the club’s recent overall success.

"I don't know," Rangnick told Manchester Evening News when the prospect of resting Ronaldo was raised. "So far, I'm happy with his body language, his input on the team.”

“He wants to win games, this is what it's all about, and the way that he won the penalty and converted the penalty [against Norwich City], that's why we're happy to have him."

As for Manchester United’s first-choice goalkeeper David De Gea, the 63-year-old also had the same response.

According to Rangnick, De Gea has been the main man on the shot-stopping department, but he’s still undecided as the club also has “other good goalkeepers.”

"I don't know, to be honest, there are also other good goalkeepers, like Manuel Neuer, for example," the manager admitted. "But so far, what I've seen from David is fantastic.

"An outstanding performance today and also against Crystal Palace, although there was not that much for him to do in that game,” he added. “But today he definitely had three or four brilliant, outstanding saves.”

Rangnick is well aware of what lies ahead of Manchester United, especially in the Premier League.

Despite winning three consecutive games in a row, he still stressed the need to find the “best solutions” to the club’s current holes.

"I think in parts of the game we controlled the game, but we didn't always find the best possible solutions,” he evaluated. “What I'm talking about is the intensity, the physicality, in one-on-one duels. It's about how to defend the ball, to keep the ball, to win the ball back, and we had a different level in different parts of the game and also in parts of the team."
