Manchester United could be all set to deal with a potential issue that the Jadon Sancho transfer might trigger.

After more than one year of courtship, Manchester United finally sealed Sancho’s move to Old Trafford.

On Thursday, both the Red Devils and Borussia Dortmund confirmed the winger’s €85 million ($100.6 million) transfer, The Guardian reported.

Following the stunning deal, reputable transfer insider Fabrizio Romano provided a fresh update on Manchester United’s current stance.

According to Romano, the club’s “next priority” is to prolong Bruno Fernandes’ contract by offering the Portuguese a fresh set of terms.

He also noted that Manchester United will do its best to not jeopardize Fernandes’ value despite Sancho’s staggering salary.

“Manchester United's next priority will be Bruno Fernandes' contract,” Romano tweeted. “After adding another top salary with Jadon Sancho, Man Utd board know they’ve progressed in discussions [already opened] with Bruno about a new agreement.”

“Updates expected this month,” he added.

In May, Fernandes was reportedly already set to extend his contract with Manchester United.

Though nothing is concrete even to this day, the midfielder earlier shot down the contract talks and insisted that he is focused on winning titles with the club.

“My priority today is to win trophies,” Fernandes stressed. “Collective titles are more important than individual titles and we are working on that here. I think the club has improved a lot since I arrived here.”

“It is in a growth phase and the players are getting more and more the mentality that you should have in a club like Manchester United, which wants to win titles and more titles,” the player continued. “That's what we're here for. I feel like I'm part of that and I'm here to help the club evolve.”

Sancho, on the other hand, has asked to wear the No. 7 shirt at Manchester United. The club has yet to decide on the matter but at the moment, the iconic jersey number is being worn by Edinson Cavani.

According to another famed transfer insider Dean Jones, Manchester United was already discussing the handing of the No. 7 to Sancho even before the club entered an agreement with Borussia Dortmund.

“I was speaking to someone [from Manchester United] yesterday who said the next storyline will be, does he get the No.7 shirt?” Jones revealed last month. “People are getting so confident and there’s more of a willingness on both sides to get it done now.”

Despite landing Sancho, widespread rumors swirl that Solskjaer is still keen on signing West Ham’s Declan Rice, Villarreal’s Pau Torres, Atlético Madrid’s Kieran Trippier and Tottenham’s Harry Kane.
