Manchester United could be looking at adding another World Cup winner to its squad.

Since his expensive move from Atletico Madrid to Barcelona in 2019, Griezmann has always been a subject of criticisms as he failed to reach the heights of his incredible transfer fee.

This season is no different for Griezmann, and rumors swirled that a host of big-name clubs are keen on paying for his transfer. Among them is English Premier League giant Manchester United, Spanish outlet Don Balon reported.

According to the report, the current “scenario has put Manchester United as the main Premier League team interested in taking over the services” of Griezmann with the English club “studying to offer” Barcelona around €60 million ($71.5 million).

The publication also noted that should Barcelona decides to offload Griezmann, the soon-to-be 30-year-old “would have other options” as Serie A teams such as Juventus and Inter Milan are also interested.

The report added that the said figure Man United could give Barca president Joan Laporta a financial jumpstart in his transfer projects.

However, Griezmann’s transfer might still be far from coming to fruition as his future at Barcelona will depend on the “major decision” of the club’s sporting director Mateu Alemany, according to Spanish newspaper Diario AS.

Griezmann has managed to record modest numbers this season, having notched 12 goals that went along with 11 assists in 38 games.

However, the attacking midfielder has not scored in Barca’s important games this year against Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Sevilla.

Meanwhile, Barcelona is expected to pursue an emerging La Liga star as recent reports state that Laporta is “in love” with Sevilla’s Bryan Gil.

The club’s scouting expert German “Mani” Vaya Ballabriga revealed that he has already urged the Catalans to make a swoop for Gil, whom he likened to former Barca forward Neymar.

"Right now he is Spain's best footballer and I compare him with Neymar," Mani told Cadena SER's “Què T'hi Jugues” of Gil last month. "He can do certain things and has great versatility, as he can play at full-back in the middle or on the left-wing. It's impressive."

"I have spoken with (Barcelona technical secretary) Ramon Planes about him and he has Bryan Gil in mind," he continued. "If he is signed now then his release clause is €35 million ($42 million), but if he signs a new deal with Sevilla, then he'll have a release clause worth €150 million ($182 million)."
