Former Real Madrid midfielder Uli Stielike has insisted that Paul Poga is not needed at Santiago Bernabeu because he is “not humble”.

Stielike, who is known for his stamina and soccer intelligence, does not believe that Pogba would “sacrifice” himself for Real Madrid, a club he thinks need only humble players right now.

Pogba has been linked with a Real Madrid move for a while now and the speculations increased since Bruno Fernandes’ arrival at Old Trafford this January. The Portuguese midfielder, who won the Premier League’s Player of the Month award in his debut month with the Red Devils, has been impressive having scored thrice in nine matches and his presence in the middle has ensured Man Utd have not missed Pogba for getting the desired results.

Man Utd were on an 11-match unbeaten streak when the Premier League was halted in March.

In a recent interview, Stielike was asked if Real must sign Pogba to which, the German replied that he does not think his former side should rope in Pogba this summer.

"If you want to return to the idea of the Galacticos, maybe yes, but I am more in favor of humble players with great talent and sacrifice for the team,” Stielike told AS.

Despite Pogba’s wish to leave Old Trafford, the club’s boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been incredibly supportive of the Frenchman because he thinks the partnership of Pogba and Fernandes can work like wonders for the 20-time league champions.

"Good players can always play together, so definitely, they can - it's a big yes. I think it's exciting... we do have an exciting squad. I've got Scott [McTominay], Fred, Nemanja [Matic]. There are many games coming up and I'm sure we can find a good connection between them. We've been discussing that as a coaching team of course, and we're looking forward to it,” Solskjaer told Sky Sports.
