  • Jimenez moved to Wolves on loan last season
  • After he won the Wolves' Player of the Season award, the club signed him permanently
  • Jimenez's transfer fee is around $65m

Manchester United reportedly could battle against the likes of Juventus and Real Madrid in the race to sign Wolves striker Raul Jimenez.

Wolves, who already have a settled attack comprising Diogo Jota, Adama Traore, Pedro Neto, and Patrick Cutrone, have decided to cash in on a promising player like Jimenez as they were sure the talented Mexican player would attract interest from various top European clubs at the upcoming transfer window.

Jimenez, who netted 22 goals in 44 appearances for Wolves across competitions, has been labeled with a transfer fee of at least $65 million by the Premier League side.

The 29-year-old first moved to Wolves from Benfica on loan ahead of the 2018-19 season. When he scored his 13th Premier League goal last April, he became the Wolves player with most goals scored in a single Premier League season. Jimenez went on to seal the season with a tally of 17 goals and was declared Wolves’ Player of the Season.

An impressed Midlands club went on to confirm Jimenez as a permanent player for a club-record $36m.

According to Tuttosport, Man Utd, who are already chasing the likes of Jadon Sancho, are the latest club to show interest in the Mexican international as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is looking to add a quality finisher in the squad for the next season.

Apart from Sancho, Man Utd have been chasing for signatures of the likes of Harry Kane and Erling Haaland but all these players are not expected to come cheap. While Kane could cost the Red Devils $243m, Sancho and Haaland could be a little over $124m. Hence, the Red Devils have decided to look for cheaper options in this transfer market.

Earlier it was reported that Real Madrid are also keeping an eye on Jimenez but there has been no news about the La Liga side approaching Wolves about the same.

Even though Juventus are looking for a talented partner for Cristiano Ronaldo in the front, Jimenez is not their top target. Napoli’s forward Arkadiuz Milik continues to remain the Serie A’s top target ahead of the summer transfer window.

It is also understood that Juventus could use midfielder Adrien Rabiot as a part of the deal for Jimenez. According to Todofichajes, Juventus are planning to offer the French midfielder to Wolves along with $33m in exchange for Jimenez.
