  • Giancarlo Esposito will return as Moff Gideon in "The Mandalorian" Seaosn 2
  • Moff Gideon will be the main villain in Season 2
  • The show will return later this year

Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) will get a bigger role in “The Mandalorian” Season 2. The main villain got very little screen time in the first season because he was introduced towards the end.

In a recent interview with SlashFilm, Esposito confirmed that he will certainly return for the next season. The actor isn’t allowed to share any details about the plot, but he did tease that his role on the show is “growing.”

Esposito is personally excited about the TV series because the show takes him back to the “Star Wars” he loves. The show has a lot of nostalgic moments as it takes the fans back to the world in the original trilogy, including familiar planets like Tatooine.

Many of the fans didn’t like the prequel trilogy, and Esposito appears to be one of them. The actor admitted that he “dropped away” from watching “Star Wars” after seeing that subsequent films were made in a “different vein.” However, “The Mandalorian” TV series, the actor pointed out, is a “true space western.”

While the return of a formidable villain will be exciting, the fans may be more excited to see the return of Pedro Pascal’s character and his Baby Yoda sidekick. The popularity of the duo is huge, and a fan recently made an animation video of the two characters that proves that a cartoon series of the character can be a huge hit if it is made, Screen Rant reported.

Baby Yoda is an important character, but details about his background are yet to be revealed. The character also doesn’t have a name yet. Some of the fans have come up with interesting names for the alien toddler that include names like Yiddle, Kuiil, and George, Screen Rant reported.

“The Mandalorian” Season 2 is currently in production. The show will return sometime later this year.
