There are 68 teams participating in March Madness 2022, and one is viewed as the clear frontrunner to claim the national championship. Last year's runner-up Gonzaga is given the best chance to win this year's NCAA Tournament.

Gonzaga is the No. 1 seed in the West region and the top overall seed in the entire NCAA Tournament. After a 26-3 season, the Bulldogs are the March Madness favorites with +300 odds to win college basketball’s championship, according to the latest betting odds at DraftKings Sportsbook.

The Bulldogs were undefeated last year until losing to Baylor in the national championship game. Gonzaga has made the NCAA Tournament in every season since 1999 and is seeking its first-ever title.

Arizona, the No. 1 seed in the South, is Gonzaga’s biggest challenger. The Wildcats have +650 championship odds, making them the second pick in the March Madness field.

No. 2 Kentucky has the third-best title odds at +800, even though it isn’t the top seed in its portion of the bracket. Kentucky is right ahead of No. 1 Kansas, which has +850 championship odds.

No. 2 Auburn and No. 1 Baylor both have +1200 odds to win the NCAA Tournament. Auburn spent multiple weeks atop the AP Top 25 Poll, but the Tigers stumbled down the stretch with four losses in their last nine games. Defending national champion Baylor was upset by Oklahoma in its first Big 12 Tournament game.

No team has successfully won the NCAA Tournament two years in a row since Florida repeated as national champions in 2006 and 2007.

No. 2 Villanova and No. 3 Tennessee both have +1400 odds after being placed in the South region. The two teams won their respective conference tournaments. Tennessee was viewed by many as a potential No. 2 seed, following its first SEC Tournament championship since 1979.

No. 2 Duke (+1600) could have five first-round draft picks on the roster. The Blue Devils came up short in the ACC Championship Game. No. 4 UCLA (+1800) and No. 3 Purdue (+2000) are the only other teams with 20/1 odds or better to win the NCAA Tournament.

A No. 1 seed has won the NCAA Tournament in four straight seasons. It’s been eight years since a team that was seeded lower than No. 2 claimed the national championship.
