"The Masked Singer" has continued to entertain audiences since its January 2019 debut. Now, as the Fox singing competition nears its Season 3 finale, some fans may be wondering what's in store for Season 4 of the Nick Cannon-hosted show.

According to Deadline, it was revealed on Wednesday that the series has, in fact, been renewed for a fourth season. As stated by Fox CEO Lachlan Murdoch, the network is eyeing a fall debut, even with the current issues created by the coronavirus pandemic.

"Should conditions allow for it, we are planning production in early August of Season 4 of 'The Masked Singer,' which we’ll target for a fall debut,” he stated.

Previously, fans had wondered whether or not the current season would face any delays due to the spread of COVID-19. However, due to the fact that episodes are filmed in advance, Season 3 was able to air as planned amid the current health crisis.

Throughout Season 3, which premiered after the 2020 Super Bowl on Feb. 2, celebrities such as Lil Wayne, Sarah Palin, Tony Hawk, and others have been revealed each week. On Wednesday night's episode, former "America's Got Talent" star Jackie Evancho was revealed as The Kitty.

As stated by Deadline, the decision to bring the show back was not a surprising move, as the second season reportedly averaged a 3.0 Live+7 rating. That allowed it to rank as last season's No. 1 entertainment program alongside NBC's "This Is Us." This, said Fox and Nielsen, resulted in the first time that a reality series had ever claimed that rank.

Last season, panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke attempted to guess the identities of a variety of characters, including The Fox, The Flamingo, and The Rottweiler. In the season finale, "Let's Make a Deal" host Wayne Brady took home the ultimate title, which he said was a nice surprise due to the fact that he always felt "slept on as a vocalist."

New epodes of "The Masked Singer" air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
