Sandra Crispo, who moved to a house on Spofford Avenue in Hanson from Quincy in Massachusetts three months ago has been missing for over forty days. She had moved to the new home to be closer to her grandchildren, three young boys, whom she took care of.

Her daughter Laina McMahon had gone to drop off the kids at Crispo’s place on Friday, Aug. 9, when she found the house empty with the backdoor unlocked and dog sitting in the recliner. The lights and air conditioner were on.

“She knew she was supposed to watch them that day. She would have never just left. She loved having them here,” McMahon said.

According to her family, something bad has happened to Crispo.

“My gut is telling me something bad happened. Someone did this to her. She would never just leave her grandchildren, her dog, her life,” McMahon told Dateline.

The Hanson Police Department is carrying out an investigation into Crispo's disappearance. While the police said they had no reason to suspect foul play, they are actively searching nearby areas, chasing down leads and tips, but with no luck.

“We have no idea where Sandra is,” Hanson Police Chief Michael Miksch told Dateline.

According to McMahon, her mother did not have a cellphone or a computer, making it harder for the police to trace her.

“Someone disappearing is suspicious in and of itself, but there are no signs of foul play, nothing out of the ordinary at her house. We just don’t know,” Miksch said.

McMahon wrote an emotional message on Facebook asking for anyone who has information about her mother to come forward.

“40 days ago.... If I knew it was the last time I would talk to you, I would’ve talked longer. If I knew it was the last time I would see you, I would’ve told you I loved you. If knew it was the last time my children would see you, I would’ve had them hug you longer. Sometimes life doesn’t seem fair. Sometimes bad things happened to innocent people. Not knowing how, why or what happened to you is devastating. Please if anyone has any information on what happened to my mother please contact police. This is your neighbor, a mother, a grandmother,” she wrote.

Crispo, 54, was last seen on Aug. 7, Wednesday. She is seen in a CCTV footage getting out of a relative’s car at a mechanic shop.

McMahon recalled that her mother had called stating she had some mechanical issues with her vehicle. This was after McMahon left the kids at her place. Since McMahon was in Boston working, another family member picked up Crispo and the kids and helped her dropped the vehicle at the mechanic.

"She’s not the kind of person who would just leave. It’s mind-boggling to everyone, even the police. But I just know that I’m going to do everything I can to get her back," McMahon said.

Police have urged anyone with information about the missing person to come forward and contact them. Crispo is described as a white 5-foot-9 female with brown hair and hazel eyes.
