Keanu Reeves has revealed that he has read the script of the upcoming “Matrix” movie and did not hold back when he teased the film to his fans.

While talking to Entertainment Tonight, the 55-year-old actor shared that he was really impressed with how the movie script was written and that he is pretty excited for what’s in store for his character in the upcoming film.

Reeves also added that the script is “really ambitious as it should be.”

The “John Wick” star recently joined his sister, Karina Miller, for a special screening of the movie produced by Miller, “Semper Fi.”

At the event, Miller admitted that the “Knock Knock” star has always supported her and encouraged her to do whatever she wants to do in her professional life.

Recently, it was claimed that the working title for “The Matrix 4” has been finalized. Production Weekly reported that the title of the upcoming movie is “Project Ice Cream.” The media outlet also added that the production is expected to begin in February 2020, with Chicago being the primary filming location.

Both Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss will return to the series alongside Lana Wachowski, who will be directing the movie. Wachowski also wrote the script with Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell. Apart from writing and directing, Wachowski will also produce the film with Grant Hill.

The first film and its two sequels – “The Matrix Reloaded” and “The Matrix Revolutions” – accumulated a staggering $1.6 billion at the global box office. Reeves and Anne-Moss portrayed the roles of Neo and Trinity in all the three movies of the “Matrix” franchise.

Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures will produce and distribute the movie globally. Toby Emmerich, chairman of Warner Bros. Picture Group, shared that they are beyond excited to re-enter the world of Neo and Trinity with Wachowski.

“We could not be more excited to be entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana. Lana is a true visionary – a singular and original creative filmmaker – and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing, and producing this new chapter,” Emmerich told Variety.

As of now, no release date has been given for the fourth installment of the series.

Reeves will next be seen in “Bill and Ted Face The Music” alongside Alex Winter. It is the third film in the “Bill and Ted” franchise. The “Destination Wedding” star and Winter will reprise their roles as the title characters, and the film is currently slated for release on Aug. 21, 2020.
