Matthew McConaughey revealed that his dad, James McConaughey, predicted how he would die–in the bedroom.

During an interview about his new memoir "Greenlights," the "Dazed and Confused" star opened up about his family and shared that his dad, who passed away in 1992, knew he would die in bed with his wife, Kay.

"I got a call from my Mom. ‘Your dad died.’ My knees buckled. I couldn’t believe it. He was my dad. Nobody or nothing could kill him. Except mom," McConaughey said in the People cover story.

"He’d always told me and my brothers, ‘Boys, when I go, I’m gonna be makin’ love to your mother.’ And that’s what happened. He had a heart attack when he climaxed," he recalled.

McConaughey's parents had an on-again, off-again relationship. They were divorced twice and married three times. The Oscar-winning actor was conceived shortly after their third wedding.

"They were, at times, violent," McConaughey said about his parents' relationship. "As I say in the book, that is how they communicated. They were divorced twice, married three times, I mean, yeah, it was like the Pacific Ocean in a storm.”

As for his own marriage, McConaughey said that his relationship with his wife, Camila Alves, is very different from his parents' very passionate romance. Unlike them, he doesn't raise his voice to Alves and it takes longer for him to get upset.

"It takes a lot for me to explode," the "Interstellar" actor shared. "I think I do a pretty good job trying to maintain and care for each relationship in my family, well enough, so it doesn't get to a point where I'm exacerbated or have to raise my voice.”

McConaughey believes he and his wife are unlikely to split. Just like his parents, he and his wife will grow old together because they are very sure of their love for each other. In fact, McConaughey said he never wanted to be with any other woman after he met Alves in 2006.

"Since that evening I have not wanted to spend time with any other woman, definitely have not wanted to sleep with anyone else. I’ve not wanted to have children with anyone else other than her," he said about Alves. "We have a love that we never question."

"Greenlights" will go on sale Tuesday.
