Meghan Markle has a habit of hiding her hands in her pocket, and there's a reason why she does this.

The Duchess of Sussex has been photographed with her hands in her pocket multiple times. According to body language expert Judi James, this indicates that Markle has a "subliminal desire to hide."

"The classic reason for this very common gesture is that it signals a subliminal desire to hide, especially when the hands are shoved deep into the pockets," James told OK! (via Daily Star). "It also helps get over the common problem most of us suffer from, which is not really knowing what to do with our hands when we know people are looking at us."

James insisted that this doesn't mean that Markle has suddenly become shy. She explained that this is more of a fashion choice. "Meghan’s high levels of confidence suggest her reason is more to do with fashion than anxiety though," James continued. "It is also a probable nod to her love of 50's styling."

James compared Markle's skirt at a fundraising polo match she attended in July to one of Audrey Hepburn's outfits. The expert also shared the royal's usual fashion choices.

"Her full skirts are very Audrey Hepburn and to wear them well, a hand in one pocket is almost de rigueur," the expert added. "She also loves slouchy coats and jackets and the same fashion rule of 'wearing' the tailoring would apply with them too."

In related news, another expert analyzed Kate Middleton's handwriting. According to Michelle Dresbold, the Duchess of Cambridge considers herself the best.

"If you look very closely you'll see there's a period after her name. That basically means, 'I'm the best, period," Dresbold said. "People who are really assured of who they are and know they're the best in their field will put a period after their name."

Another handwriting expert, Tracey Trussell, said the same about Middleton. In fact, she considers Prince William's wife more confident than Markle. For her, Prince Harry's spouse is "insecure."

"As we suspected Kate is delightfully natural and genuine, but she's also happy to take charge when needed," Trussell said. "The capital C joined to the next letter shows she's approachable. Her large, broad letters indicate she's warm-hearted and the slant to the right means she's very compassionate."
