Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton may be in a war at the moment, a royal expert has claimed.

Angela Mollard said on the “Royals” podcast that Markle and Middleton’s recent social media competition could only mean that there is a war going on between the two royals.

“It does feel as though they are competing for media attention. It leads to questions of whether there is a war going on,” she said.

Mollard explained that while promoting the causes closest to their hearts, the two female royals shouldn’t focus on how many likes and comments they receive on social media.

“I see them doing that, it’s very much Meghan’s background to do that. Her industry has required competitiveness… But, employing it in a social media context with a family who is renowned for majesty, they are regal, the appeal of the royals is as much distance as it is closeness, it’s important that they judge that correctly,” she said.

Markle and Middleton have been rumored to be feuding with each other since last year. But the speculations temporarily stopped after they were seen chatting with each other at a royal engagement.

However, after Markle gave birth to her son Archie Harrison, rumors about their alleged feud once again picked up. Markle was once again pitted against Middleton when the former and Prince Harry celebrated their first wedding anniversary last week.

On May 19, a throwback video featuring photos from the royal couple’s wedding was uploaded on their official Instagram account. Shortly after, photos of Middleton and Prince William with their three children at the Chelsea flower show was also uploaded on their Instagram account.

Royal experts said that this move was an obvious indication that Markle and Middleton are still competing with each other and that they are still not on good terms. But last month, a spokesperson for the palace denied rumors of an alleged rift between the two.
