Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton could team up for a new project in the near future, a report says.

Following reports that tensions between the two duchesses have eased following Markle and Prince Harry's bombshell interview in March, an unnamed source has told Us Weekly that the Duchess of Sussex has reached out to her sister-in-law over a potential collaboration for Netflix that would focus on Middleton's charity work.

"Meghan and Kate are actually getting along really well and have been in touch more often," the insider said. "Meghan has been talking to her about collaborating on a project for Netflix, a documentary that will spotlight Kate’s charity work and the huge impact she’s made with her philanthropy."

Markle and Prince Harry signed a multi-year deal with Netflix in September 2020 to make documentaries, docu-series, feature films, scripted shows and children's programming.

Meanwhile, Middleton has recently been documenting some of her projects on her and Prince William's YouTube channel, which they launched in May. But the couple is no stranger to documentaries. Last year, the Duke of Cambridge participated in Sir David Attenborough's BBC One special, "Extinction: The Facts," where he promoted his own climate initiative, the Earthshot Prize.

While Middleton and her husband Prince William follow a more standard route when it comes to publicizing their work as members of the royal family, the Duchess of Cambridge has reportedly considered Markle's suggestion.

"Kate is very flattered, and it’s all very positive between them," the insider told Us Weekly.

Middleton and Markle were pitted against each other when the latter was still a working royal. But an unnamed source told the outlet in July that their relationship has improved in recent months and that the birth of Markle's daughter, Lilibet Diana, brought the two duchesses closer.

"Tensions have eased between Meghan and Kate. They’re in a better place and have exchanged texts since the birth of Lilibet," the source said, adding that Middleton sent Markle and Prince Harry a gift after they welcomed their daughter.

Another insider explained to the outlet, "Meghan and Kate’s relationship was never that close. And now they’re closer than ever and working on their relationship for the sake of the family."

Meanwhile, Markle and Prince Harry's upcoming projects for Netflix include the docuseries "Heart of Invictus," which the duke will appear in and executive produce, and "Pearl," an animated show that the duchess will executive produce.
