When Meghan Markle first married Prince Harry in May 2018, there were reports claiming the former “Suits” star hoped to modernize the monarchy once she became a member of the royal family.

Although the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have recently welcomed their first child together and will soon celebrate their first wedding anniversary, it appears the 37-year-old’s efforts to change royal traditions have only gotten her into trouble.

According to Express UK, Meghan’s history of breaking royal protocol and sticking to her American roots have made place employees consider her a threat to their strict policies.

“Meghan is beautiful, intelligent and ambitious and intent on proving these qualities to the world, even at the risk of angering the Palace establishment. As we shall see, there may be storm clouds ahead,” Royal biographer Angela Levin explained.

Since she has joined the royal family, there has been speculation suggesting the Palace staff has had issues dealing with Meghan’s work ethic. “I can reveal that Buckingham Palace, unsettled by Meghan’s determination to do things her own way, has already taken decisive action to control her activities,” Levin said.

“Yet Meghan has aroused the suspicion of some Palace insiders because of her apparent disregard for such long-established Royal values as caution and discretion,” the biographer added.

Despite Meghan’s efforts to include her own values into her new role, Levin believes the new mom has made little progress in achieving her goal.

“The 12 months since she got married have been far from straightforward. She has been unable to prevent long-standing family disagreements becoming headline news and has lost a number of staff members, including her press adviser,” she shared.

“She has often appeared to run her own publicity machine, in fact, disregarding courtiers in the process.”

There have been rumors alleging Meghan has been feuding with Kate Middleton and lost staff members due to her “diva” attitude. Despite the speculation, there has been no evidence to confirm those rumors.

However, what is known for certain is, Meghan and Prince Harry are the proud parents of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who was born May 6.
