They’ve only been parents for a few days, but there are rumors that some trouble could already be potentially brewing when it comes to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s plans for their son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

According to royal expert Gavin Grey, as the couple considers who to name as godparents for their baby boy, the Duchess of Sussex could quickly veto some of the names her husband puts forward, as she is allegedly trying to make sure that they keep some distance from his closest friends.

“I suspect there is going to be a nod to, obviously, both the Spencer family—Diana's, his mother’s, family—and also the Royal family,” he said. “Then, of course, there are the friends but Harry’s friends have in the past rather led him astray and rumors reached me that Meghan is rather keen to put some space between him and those close friends.”

Among the friends that have been distanced from Harry are Tom Inskip and Astrid Harbord. Inskip was a friend of his from when the two both studied in Eton, while Harbord was a friend he knew through his sister-in-law, Kate Middleton.

If Harry does try to get his pals named as godparents and Markle vetoes them, however, it will be interesting, as Grey notes some of her own friends from her days as an actress could still make the cut.

“Meghan has lots of close friends from her days as an actress, but also in Canada and America. It’ll be very interesting to see the split,” he said. “I do think we’ll see something from Harry’s side with Diana, I think we’ll see some of her friends and some of the people who looked after him when he was young. But there’ll definitely be a nod to the royals as well.”

The mix will be interesting, especially if it favors Meghan’s friends over Harry’s, as that would be a departure from the split that Middleton and Prince William used when they named the various godparents for all three of their children. Among those godparents are a couple of friends they made as a couple and an even split amongst their various cousins. However, when it comes to their individual friends chosen, things lean much more heavily on William’s side, with six friends making the cut between the three children. By comparison, only three of Middleton’s friends are named.
