May fans were shocked when it was confirmed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are not celebrating Christmas with Queen Elizabeth, Prince William, Kate Middleton and the other members of the Royal family this year. It was, previously, claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are likely to spend the holidays in the United States and stay at the Los Angeles pad of Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month. Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, [the couple] will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’s mother, Doria,” royal correspondent Omid Scobie revealed on Nov. 13. “This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen,” he went on.

However, Omid’s most recent statements suggested that it might not be the case after all. Harper’s Bazaar’s Royal Editor at Large claimed, during an episode of “The HeirPod” podcast, that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are planning to spend the remaining days of the current year at their home in Windsor.

“As we record this, the Sussexes are away, they are on their break right up until Christmas,” Omid stated. “I understand that they celebrated Thanksgiving privately with close family, which is lovely,” he added.

It remains unclear if these claims are true since neither Meghan nor Harry has confirmed anything as of yet. Hence, avid followers of the Royal couple should take these unverified reports lightly until everything is proven correct.

Meanwhile, one possible reason why Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are not spending Christmas with the rest of the Royal family is the alleged feud between the Duke of Sussex and his elder brother. The father of one, previously, hinted that there is some tension between him and Prince William when he said, during an ITV interview, that they are on “different paths” at the moment.

Even their followers noticed that the relationship between Princess Diana’s two sons is not as close as it once was. Aside from Prince Harry and Prince William, other reports claimed even Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are, currently, not on good terms.
