Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are Buckingham Palace’s “public relations disaster.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are officially under the wings of Buckingham Palace. Earlier this year, Prince Harry and Markle announced that they were separating from Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The couple moved out of Kensington Palace to reside in Frogmore Cottage in Windsor. Surprisingly, aside from opting to live outside the Kensington Palace, they also wished to have an autonomous household. The Queen denied their requests and opted to adopt them under Buckingham Palace. Prince Harry’s latest entry in the court circular was listed under Buckingham Palace, and this confirmed their official move.

However, according to a royal expert, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are only bringing a disaster to the Queen’s office.

“[The couple’s recent behavior is] a public relations disaster for Buckingham Palace, who are having a hard time reining them in,” Lady Colin Campbell said.

“Meghan is clearly calling the shots, but she’s a minor operator who is playing in the big leagues and mucking it up in the most catastrophic fashion.”

Princess Diana’s former secretary Patrick Jefferson agreed that Markle is a minor member of the royal family. According to him, the Duchess of Sussex is “constitutionally irrelevant” so she should do less. Jefferson also criticized Prince Harry’s wife for promising to “hit the ground running” without knowing where she’s “running to.”

Netizens also agreed that Prince Harry and Markle are bringing a public relations disaster to Buckingham Palace for their behavior. Prince Harry, in particular, was criticized for taking private jets despite campaigning for the environment.

In his recent speech, the Duke of Sussex reasoned out that he has been flying the majority of his life and he takes commercial flights most of the time. He only chooses to take private flights when he is with Markle and baby Archie to ensure their safety. Netizens didn’t agree with this because he has been flying in private jets even without his wife and son.

One online user took to Twitter and said that Prince Harry disgraced Queen Elizabeth II with his actions. Meanwhile, another netizen pointed out the duke’s double standards by sarcastically thanking Prince Harry for “telling all of us lonely peasants how ‘virtuous’ u r.”
