Meghan Markle and Prince Harry baffled and infuriated the royal aides after doing this move to Kate Middleton and Prince William.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a particular move that surprised the palace aides. According to royal editor Robert Jobson, Prince Harry and Markle’s interview overshadowed Prince William and Middleton’s Pakistan tour.

A senior figure told Jobson that the aides were “baffled and infuriated” when Prince Harry and Markle’s emotional interview aired. “This move has certainly overshadowed the Pakistan visit and what has been achieved here during the last few days, as well as a lot of work by an awful lot of dedicated people here on the ground as well as back home for months,” the source added.

Jobson stressed that there has been an unwritten rule that members of the royal family do not overshadow official overseas visits by more senior royals. The palace aides felt that the Sussexes broke the protocol.

When Prince Harry and Markle were also in South Africa, the couple’s followers reacted when Buckingham Palace announced Princess Beatrice’s engagement to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Many questioned the timing of the announcement because the royal couple was on tour and they felt that in a way, Princess Beatrice stole Markle’s thunder.

One netizen accused the bride-to-be of “hogging the limelight.” The same netizen asked why Princess Eugenie’s sister did not wait for a couple of days more when the Sussexes’ tour would be over.

However, not everyone felt that way. A royal follower said that the South Africa tour was part of Prince Harry and Markle’s job as royals and it was not a major life event for the Sussexes. Thus, it was not reasonable to hold off the engagement announcement just because Prince Harry and Markle were in Africa working.

In related news, an insider claimed that Princess Beatrice would not invite Prince Harry and Markle on her big day if she would have her way. The newly engaged royal reportedly has a brewing tension with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for months. The rumored rift reportedly started when Markle debuted her baby bump at Princess Eugenie’s royal wedding, stealing the bride’s thunder in a way.
