Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a glaring omission on Instagram after their recent engagement with the royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced in January that they were stepping back as senior members of the royal family. Shortly after their bombshell announcement, Prince Harry and Markle moved to Canada.

Last week, they returned to the U.K. to carry out their last engagements. On Monday, the royal couple joined the members of the Firm for the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey. After their joint appearance, they shared an update about the event on Instagram.

However, according to New Idea, the couple made a glaring omission by not mentioning that it was their final engagement as senior royals. Prince Harry and Markle shared two photos of them from the event and included a lengthy caption about the post on social media but never mentioned that it was their last engagement.

According to Isabel Togoh of Forbes, several things would change for the couple after the event. Among the changes would be for the couple to work to become financially independent.

Prince Harry and Markle will no longer enjoy the taxpayer funding unlike Prince William and Kate Middleton. However, they will still receive a share of Prince Charles’ $27 million income from the Duchy of Cornwall.

Also, they will no longer represent the Queen in a formal capacity. Prince Harry’s military ranks of Major, Lieutenant Commander and Squadron Leader will not be used in the next 12 months. The couple will also not use the “Sussex Royal” branding.

However, Prince Harry and Markle will maintain their charity patronages like the Invictus Games founded by the Duke of Sussex and the National Theatre for Markle. Prince Harry will also remain president of the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust and his wife, the vice president.

During Prince Harry and Markle’s reunion with the royal family, Prince William and Middleton were accused of snubbing the Sussexes. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge reportedly barely acknowledged the two.

Meanwhile, according to body language expert Biance Cobb, Prince Harry was “a little uneasy” while his wife, Markle, was “more relaxed.” Cobb also noted that Middleton didn’t acknowledge her brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
