Meghan Markle and Prince Harry partied like tycoons on New Year’s Eve before they welcomed Archie.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated Christmas and New Year in Canada. They opted to spend the holidays away from the royal family because it’s Archie’s first and they decided to make it extra special by having some family time. Markle’s mom Doria Ragland joined the couple.

However, two years ago, Prince Harry and Markle celebrated the event differently. According to reports, Archie’s parents partied like tycoons.

Prince Harry and Markle reportedly threw an expensive party in Monaco. The Duke of Sussex even invited his friends, including Prince Albert of Monaco and his wife, Princess Charlene.

“Harry and Meghan were somewhere very private and very expensive,” a source told Daily Mail. “Monte Carlo is party central at this time of year and the word is that the British royals really enjoyed themselves. The fun could well have been laid on by Prince Albert, who is a close friend of Harry’s.”

An insider added that the fun around Monaco is never understated and it always costs a fortune. While there was no estimate of how much the party cost, a source said that one thing was certain, “They were partying like tycoons.”

This year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had a modest celebration. Just recently, they shared the highlights of 2019 which included Archie’s arrival on Instagram. The couple also added that they were looking forward to 2020.

In related news, there were rumors that Markle was fuming with her sister-in-law Kate Middleton for snubbing her at the latter’s New Year’s party. The Duchess of Cambridge reportedly invited Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and Mike and Zara Tindall. However, she purposely snubbed the Duchess of Sussex making the latter feel left out.

However, one should take the report with a grain of salt. Middleton didn’t host a party, but she joined her family’s New Year’s Eve celebration. Also, if the royal mom of three were to indeed host a party, Prince Harry and Markle would still skip it because they are still in Canada.
