Meghan Markle stepped out in New York City this week wearing an outfit similar to one of her sister-in-law Kate Middleton's recent viral looks.

On Monday evening, the Duchess of Sussex and her husband Prince Harry enjoyed dinner with some friends at Locanda Verde in Lower Manhattan, People reported. The couple was photographed holding hands as they exited the Italian eatery.

In photos published by the outlet, Markle, 40, rocked a Gabriela Hearst black strapless jumpsuit with white fold-over trim. She paired it with black heels and a red clutch.

She styled her hair in a sleek ponytail and accessorized her ensemble with small hoop earrings and her go-to pinky ring from Shiffon, which promotes women's empowerment, according to People.

Markle's outfit was reminiscent of the floor-length Roland Mouret gown that Middleton, 40, wore to the U.K. premiere of "Top Gun: Maverick" in London's Leicester Square back in May.

Though it wasn't a jumpsuit like Markle's, the Duchess of Cambridge's gown was also black and featured a white off-the-shoulder neckline.

Markle's dinner date ensemble received mixed opinions on social media, with some praising her look and others claiming she copied Middleton.

One fan tweeted: "Meghan Markle is living her best life in NYC. She’s freaking gorgeous!"

"I personally love seeing Meghan staying true to her style after all these years. Always a classic," another wrote.

One critic tweeted, "Twins? Say it as it is please: [Meghan is] desperate to look like Catherine [and] copies her style and looks, maybe hoping to look more likable?"

"Meghan successfully underlining how much less attractive, stylish and original she is than Kate," another critic claimed.

Other Twitter users slammed those comparing the two duchesses.

"Why so nasty? Women should stick together, not tear each other down. They are both beautiful," one wrote.

"Here come all the haters. Meghan looked gorgeous. So did Kate. The outfits are not the same," another added.

The black and white style has been worn by other royal women as well, according to People.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands was previously photographed wearing a similar ensemble at an Amsterdam concert in 2017. Her outfit appeared almost similar to Middleton's dress, but Máxima's was a chic jumpsuit by the same designer. She added her own style twist by accessorizing with a black shawl.

Meanwhile, Markle's chic jumpsuit was her third outfit of the day. On Monday morning, she and Prince Harry attended the United Nations General Assembly, where the latter delivered his keynote speech as part of Nelson Mandela Day.

Markle was also seen out for lunch with her friend, political activist Gloria Steinem, later that day.
