Meghan Markle's friend warned her when she started going out with Prince Harry.

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand's book about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, entitled "Finding Freedom," is coming out soon. Based on the released excerpts, one of Markle's friends warned her when they learned that she was dating Prince William's younger brother.

"Look at Diana," Markle's friend was quoted by the book, according to Today.

"They hate royal wives and girlfriends. They will come after you."

This isn't the first time sources claimed that Markle was warned of joining the royal family. Journalist Owen Jones and "Jeremy Vine" show host Anne Diamond also talked about the issue in 2019. Jones found the coverage of Markle "obsessive" and Diamond quipped, "She was warned."

"So many people warned her about what happens if you marry into the royal family. You get that sort of publicity," Diamond explained.

Marker's former agent, Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne, also said in a previous interview that she warned Markle of the British press. She told the former "Suits" star that joining the Firm would end her privacy, but Markle stopped her from speaking further.

"I said, 'This is serious. This is the end of your normal life, the end of your privacy – everything.' But she just held up her hand and said: 'Stop. I don't want to hear any negativity. This is a happy time for us," Nelthorpe-Cowne recalled Markle's reaction.

According to Nelthorpe-Cowne, Markle is "picky" and "difficult." She added that the duchess hates "negativity" but she is also "delightful, warm, personable - and hugely charismatic.”

In October 2019 after Prince Harry and Markle's South Africa tour, the royal couple got candid about the non-stop negative headlines about them. The actress admitted that she struggled especially during her pregnancy.

"Look, any woman, especially when they're pregnant, you're really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging," Markle was quoted as saying by Insider.

"And then when you have a newborn, you know? And especially as a woman, it's really — it's a lot. So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed, it's," she said while trailing off.

Markle also thanked Tom Bradby for asking how she was doing because according to her, "Not many people have asked if I'm OK.”

However, some netizens still took it against the duchess, with many saying she was complaining about her privileged life.

“All I see is a (barely) B rate actress that jumped at the chance to escape the Hollywood circus - and now has the audacity to complain about a life funded by the British taxpayers,” one netizen wrote on social media at the time.
