  • Meghan Markle still in work mode while on six-week break

Meghan Markle is still in work mode while on her six-week sabbatical.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are currently enjoying their break, but Markle is reportedly still in “work mode.” Prince Harry’s wife is determined to launch the Sussex Royal Foundation on New Year’s Day, Victoria Ward reported via The Telegraph.

“While Harry and Meghan are technically on rest, she is not the type of woman who likes doing nothing; so this break actually could be seen by some as very fortuitous,” a source said.

Markle wanted her and Prince Harry’s foundation to be one of the biggest and most successful philanthropic organizations in the world. She is also hoping to capitalize on her Los Angeles connection for a massive fundraising drive.

A source told Ward that it has been Markle’s mission even in her younger years in Hollywood to create an international charity that changes lives. Now that she has a platform and profile to do so as part of the British royal family, she will make sure to accomplish it.

Even before Markle joined the royal family, those who are close to her can attest to her dedication to various organizations and foundations. In fact, when it was reported that she was leaving “Suits,” a source said that it could help her with her charity works.

“She [Markle] really enjoys her charity work with Unicef and will broaden out her charity commitments when she becomes a full-time royal,” the source said.

Prince Harry and Markle are reportedly in Los Angeles with the duchess’ mom. Due to this, the couple missed the NATO reception where the royals, including Queen Elizabeth II, Kate Middleton, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, and Princess Anne reunited. U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were also in attendance. Meanwhile, Prince William didn’t make it since he was in Kuwait.

Prince Harry and Markle are reportedly not spending Christmas with the royal family. An insider claimed that their rumored rift with Prince William was among the major reasons they wanted to be away in the upcoming holidays.
