Prince Charles made a shocking gesture that many felt was an insult to Donald Trump.

On Monday, Donald and Melania Trump flew to the U.K. The POTUS and FLOTUS reunited with Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charle, Camilla Parker Bowles and Kate Middleton for the NATO reception. Surprisingly, the Prince of Wales was caught scratching his nose using his middle finger when he met the U.S. politician.

“As Trump is annoying the Queen, is Prince Charles really needing to use his middle finger to scratch an itch that just can't wait, or is he flipping the bird to Trump? Just askin. #NATO,” one netizen posted on Twitter.

The clip received various reactions from netizens. Many believed that Prince Charles was flipping off Trump. Several users said that Melania’s husband did the same to an astronaut.

“Trump flipped off a female astronaut who gently corrected him. Camilla winked at the camera behind Trump’s back. This is no mistake either! The royal family is noted for their humor, and Charles is clearly playing to the camera with a message for the one and only!” Willow Pippa commented.

“He is absolutely flipping him off. Wide Load kept the Prince waiting for an hour. These royals rarely make a misstep. That was delightfully, deniably deliberate!” a different user added.

However, not everyone agreed that Prince Charles deliberately did it to insult Donald. One said that the heir apparent is not sending any hidden messages with his gesture.

“Definitely 100[percent] not, I’m afraid. We don’t ‘flip the bird’ in England, we stick up two fingers, and we don’t generally do it surreptitiously like that either. Also, the British Royal Family are not your friends. They are not sending secret messages. They are not on your side,” the social media user wrote.

A year ago, Prince Charles and Prince William allegedly snubbed Donald when they “refused to attend” a meeting with Trump. However, Buckingham Palace denied the claim, saying that the dukes were never expected to take part in the meeting.
