Meghan Markle’s close friendship with her “Suits” co-star, Patrick J. Adams reportedly made wedding guests uncomfortable.

In the book “Meghan: A Hollywood Princess,” royal author Andrew Morton said that the co-stars’ bond caused wedding guests at the Duchess of Sussex and Trevor Engelson’s 2011 wedding to raise their eyebrows.

“The first episode of Suits aired on June 23 to generally favorable review and, more importantly, an enthusiastic audience. Cast, crew and the money men at the network were ecstatic, the producers thrilled that their gamble to cast Meghan opposite Patrick had paid off big time, the show’s fans buzzing about the couple’s on-screen chemistry,” he said.

“Their off-screen chemistry was equally noticeable, almost uncomfortably so, according to guests at Meghan and Trevor’s wedding, which took place in Jamaica in 2011. The two actors clearly developed a bond of familiarity that is invariably the corollary of working up close and personal for so long and so intensely,” Morton added.

Two years after their wedding, Markle and Engelson decided to get divorced. At that time, rumors swirled that the Duchess of Sussex ended her marriage possibly due to lies and dishonesty. On her lifestyle blog The Tig, Prince Harry’s wife posted a cryptic quote about hypocrisy. This led fans to think that Markle was shading Engelson.

Morton claimed that there’s another reason why Markle and Engelson decided to end their marriage just after two years. He said that Markle just wanted out of her marriage all of a sudden and she didn’t explain her decision to her ex-husband. In fact, Engelson was taken aback when Markle gave him her ring back.

Three years later, Markle and Prince Harry met in London after they were introduced to each other by a common friend. After over a year of dating, the couple announced their engagement in November 2017. In May 2018, they tied the knot at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
