Meghan McCain has announced her decision to leave “The View” after serving as co-host on the ABC daytime talk show for four years. Here's how much she earned during her stint on “The View.”

The daughter of late Senator John McCain received an annual salary of $3 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. An estimate from the outlet said the 36-year-old TV personality and writer is worth $10 million as of 2020.

McCain’s wealth mainly comes from her TV appearances, writing gigs and book deals, the site noted.

The New York Times best-selling author first gained attention for her blog, McCain Blogette, where she wrote about her father's run for the presidency in 2008. During that year, McCain wrote and published her first book, a children’s book titled “My Dad, John McCain.”

She then scored a writing gig for The Daily Beast and became a regular contributor for MSNBC, according to her ABC profile.

In 2009, McCain inked a book deal with Hyperion Books worth six figures, according to Celebrity Net Worth. A year later, she published “Dirty Sexy Politics: A True Story,” The New York Times reported.

McCain later published another book titled “America, You Sexy B---h: A Love Letter to Freedom,” which led to her getting her first talk show, “Raising McCain,” on The Pivot Channel, according to The List.

McCain then served as a co-host on the Fox News talk show “Outnumbered” in 2016 before she landed a permanent co-hosting gig with “The View” a year later. She was estimated to be receiving an annual salary of $1 million for her role on the show in 2019, TV Line reported.

In comparison, her “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg earns a reported $8 million per year from her stint on the show, according to Celebrity Net Worth. The actress has an estimated net worth of $60 million, as per the outlet.

Fellow host Joy Behar, meanwhile, receives a salary of $7 million per year for co-hosting “The View.” She is estimated to be worth $30 million.

It is unclear how much co-hosts Sunny Hostin and Sara Haines are receiving from the show, but they are worth an estimated $3 million and $6 million, respectively, Celebrity Net Worth said.

On Thursday, McCain announced on “The View” that she is exiting the show after four years, saying it was “not an easy decision” to make, CNN reported. She confirmed that she will be with “The View” until its current season ends in late July.
