Meizu is currently working on its powerful flagship smartphone, the Meizu MX6. It is expected to pit against the Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone that is going to be announced on Feb. 24.

The Meizu MX5 that was launched in June 2015 will be replaced by the purported Meizu MX6. Rumors suggest that the Meizu MX6 may release as early as next month or April. The alleged smartphone was found listed on AnTuTu benchmarking site in the previous month through which its rumored specs were revealed.

According to Gizmo China, a Meizu smartphone that is speculated as MX6 has recently received radio certification in China. The smartphone carriers a M681Q model number.

Rumors suggest that it will be arriving with a full HD display. There is no information available on the size of the display. The Meizu MX5 smartphone features a 5.5-inch display. Its successor may either arrive with the same-sized display or a 5.7-inch screen.

The Meizu MX6 will be featuring a MediaTek Helio X20 SoC that is packed with a deca-core processor and Mali-T880 MP4 graphics. Like the Xiaomi MI 5, the Meizu MX6 with 32 GB storage edition will be arriving with 3 GB of RAM whereas the 64 GB variant will be featuring 4 GB of RAM.

It will be arriving with Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS that will be customized with company’s Flyme UI. It is expected to house a 20.7-megpapixel rear camera. The front is likely to be flanked with an 8-megapixel shooter. It will be equipped with a massive battery of 4000 mAh capacity.

As far as the design is concerned, the MX6 is expected to arrive with ultra-slim bezels, sport glass panels and a metallic frame. According to Android Headlines, the starting price of the Meizu MX6 will be $276. The base model of Xiaomi Mi 5 is expected to cost $305.
