Melania Trump visited The Mary Elizabeth House to meet the moms and kids supported by the organization, but some Twitter users still criticized her.

The First Lady has been working closely with kids. Just recently, she made an unannounced visit to The Mary Elizabeth House, an organization in Washington, D.C that supports young moms.

The FLOTUS shared a snap of her visit on Twitter.

“Today I visited The Mary Elizabeth House, an inspiring place & supportive community for young women & children. I met w staff, mothers & children, & dropped off boxed lunches & #BeBest items to show my appreciation for their efforts to strengthen families in our community,” Melania wrote.

However, Melania’s efforts were not appreciated by all and it backfired. Twitter users were not impressed by her gesture. Many of them criticized her and some accused her of just having a photo op.

“How sweet. Lunch. How about the kids in cages. Are they released yet? When these kids go back to school, is there a comprehensive plan so their favorite teacher doesn’t die of Covid-19?” one commented.

“Oh, so Melania had a photo op day. Meh,” @always92234822 added.

“Oh, look. Today the ghoul @FLOTUS is wearing a mask. Any other time she doesn't. Photo op 101. We all know she really doesn't care. She has shown us that multiple times. #bequiet #birther ...,” @angelbabesgrany opined.

“If you want to strengthen families rebuke your husband and start a new life,” @noradunn wrote.

Amid the backlash, many also supported Melania. They voiced their appreciation for the FLOTUS’ effort in working with various organizations to make a difference.

“We all love you for all you do @FLOTUS. Keep up the good fight for us all. You are beautiful inside and out. Tell your husband we are counting on him and I vow to do everything I can to help you guys. You have my families respect and support. Keep fighting the good fight,” @wreck_or wrote.

“Great job FLOTUS,” @Jo00646164 stated.

“GOD BLESS First Lady Melania doing good things for all children,” @afievoli commented.

According to the White House, during Melania’s visit, the FLOTUS delivered boxed lunches that were prepared by the White House chefs. She also engaged with the children at the community playground and handed out the boxed lunches and Be Best items herself.

Melania also took the time to speak with the staff members and young mothers on the importance of strengthening families and protecting the children.
