Melania Trump looked gorgeous when she attended the Fourth of July celebration, but some did not like the dress she wore for the occasion.

On July 4, the First Lady joined President Donald Trump at Mount Rushmore to celebrate Independence Day. She showed up with an eye-catching white dress.

According to Daily Mail, Melania’s wardrobe was designed by Alexander McQueen and cost $2,485. The dress is expensive and very fashionable but not everyone appreciated its design. In fact, several criticized and mocked the dress because according to them, it looked like Trump scribbled on the fabric with a Sharpie pen.

“Apparently Trump tried to draw a hurricane path on Melania’s dress,” @goldengateblond wrote on Twitter.

“Donald Trump got bored and drew all over Melania's white dress with a sharpie on Air Force One,” @Redpainter1 commented on the FLOTUS’ dress.

“Looks like Trump enjoyed the flyover, lol. And it also looks like he did the design on Melania's dress with a Sharpie,” @BrendaJeanCDN added.

Meanwhile, some blamed Melania’s stylist for her dress after it received backlash from other Twitter users.

“I’ve said it before: Her stylist despises her,” @galen_leslie wrote.

“I don’t know who picks Ivanka and Melanie’s clothes but they are hideous,” @Lori_Resists commented.

“This dress is what happens when stylists won't work with you,” @cynnamongirl216 added.

Meanwhile, another said that it was a “beautiful dress for a beautiful woman.” Another netizen added, “And then somebody drew in it, and gave it to Melania.”

One netizen called Melania’s wardrobe the “Sharpie dress.”

Despite the criticisms Melania’s dress received, some claimed that there was more to it than meets the eye. “Wake up people! Pay close attention to that dress because when you wake up it will make lots sense,” @Jreznichenko89 commented.

“It is a dress designed by Alexander McQueen using sketches drawn by victims of child sexual abuse to describe their feelings. Our First Lady is incredible,” @GPishev added.

However, the claim that the dress was designed by children who were victims of sexual abuse turned out to be false. According to Express, Melania’s dress was a collaboration between Alexander McQueen and art students. It was inspired by life drawings and was made for the brand’s Spring 2020 collection.
