  • Surface Go 2 may be availalbe in platinum color only

The Microsoft Surface Go 2 has hardly made much noise with potential buyers clueless on what new features to expect from the flexible mobile solution. Last month, it was mentioned how a long-awaited successor was in the works and now fresh details have come out in the open.

The Microsoft Surface Go 2 is seen as a cheaper alternative to the company's famed Surface Pro and Surface laptop. Some of the possible specs of the device were already mentioned in a previous post but it appears more significant details have cropped up.

On the outside, it appears the Surface Go 2 will not have much aesthetic difference compared to its predecessor. It will still have the same keyboards and accessories per Windows Central. However, the big changes are the display and the specs under the hood.

The Microsoft Surface Go 2 will allegedly tote a 10.2-inch display and have a bump in the resolution of up to 1920x1200 pixels. This is a larger and better-displaying screen that should be pretty interesting to see. But all that is nothing if the power from within is not sufficient.

Slashgear mentions how the Surface Go 2 may bank on an Intel Pentium Gold 4425Y or an Intel Core m3-8100Y. Aside from that, it will also have an Intel HD (or UHD) Graphics 615 GPU, either 4 GB or 8 GB of RAM, and a 64 GB eMMC storage with options for 128 GB SSD. If that storage capacity is not enough, eventual buyers can turn to microSD media storage expansion.

The Surface Go 2 will also come with the usual set of ports that include a USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a single proprietary Surface Connect connection. It is likely to come armed with Windows Hello facial recognition. Curiously, it will reportedly be available in only one color which is platinum. The starting price for the Microsoft Surface Go 2 is pegged at $399.

The latest leaks on the Microsoft Surface Go 2 look pretty impressive and all those are likely to be confirmed next month. The Microsoft Surface Go 2 is set to reveal in May 2020, just some weeks away.
