Apparently, both models will be available in AMD and Intel variants, with AMD models running on either Ryzen 5 4680U or Ryzen 7 4980U CPUs. The Surface Laptop 4 variant housing the AMD Ryzen 5 4680U processor will reportedly have a 2.9 GHz base and 4.4 GHz maximum base clock. The SKUs will sport the Surface Edition brand and feature 512 GB of storage and 16 GB of RAM. Additionally, the AMD variant will house a custom-made APU and Vega GPU. The chips are said to be based on a 7nm process node and expected to have a 15W TDP.

The Surface Laptop 4 variants running on Intel's latest 11th generation CPUs, on the other hand, will be available with 32 GB of RAM and 1 TB SSD. All models apparently share some usual Surface Laptop features. This includes the Surface Pen and Dial compatibility, Windows Hello and ambient light sensor, to name a few. The design might not have remarkable changes and anticipated to share the same design as its older sibling.

Aside from the Windows 10 Home operating system, the report also reveals all the Surface Laptop 4 models' dimensions. The build is made of a Milled Aluminum casing with 308 x 223 x 14.5 mm dimension for the 13.5-inch variant. The AMD models weigh 1.25 kg, while the Intel model weighs 1.31 kg.
