Windows 10 makes answering android phone calls through PC possible as Microsoft releases the Calls on Your Phone app.

Microsoft officially announced the launching of the feature that allows users to answer android phone calls using their PC. Through a blog post on their official website published yesterday, the software giant said that it is unveiling the Calls feature on Your Phone app for Windows 10.

The Calls on Your Phone app is a feature available only for Fast ring testers as of the moment. It is a Windows 10 Insider Preview first announced in August at the Samsung Unpacked event as well as the Surface event held last week.

How It Works

The Calls on Your Phone app in Windows 10 lets the users use their PC to answer the incoming call they receive on their android phone instead of taking it via their handheld device. When declining a phone call, a user has the option to send the call directly to a voicemail or to automatically send a customized text to the caller like “I’m in a meeting” or “I’ll get back to you shortly.”

Microsoft also made it possible for users to make an outgoing android phone call using a Windows 10 operated PC. By accessing the contact list or dialing the in-app dialer directly, users can place a call without going to their android devices.

Calling the frequently called numbers as well as the recently contacted ones is also possible using the Windows 10 PC as the phone call log is also made accessible through this feature with seamless call transfer. Upon clicking a specific contact number, the dialer screen will automatically show up the complete list of call history made to the specified number.

System Requirements

In order for the Fast ring testers to enjoy the Windows 10 Calls on Your Phone app support, customers need to have an android phone powered by Android 7.0 Nougat or a later update. Microsoft customers are required to have Windows 10 with Bluetooth radio and a 19H1build or newer or a minimum Windows 10 build 18362.356.

Since the Calls on Your Phone app is a pre-release for Fast ring testers, certain glitches can be expected. Microsoft has yet to announce its official launch to the public.
