  • Mike Tyson is eyeing to make another ring return this coming February
  • Shannon Briggs has been talking about a fight with Tyson since last year
  • "Iron Mike" is heavily linked to a fight against Logan Paul

A former heavyweight boxing champion is confident fans will be interested to see him take on Mike Tyson.

Shannon Briggs has not stepped inside the ring since 2016. However, he has been one of the boxing legends actively calling out Tyson for a showdown.

Speaking recently to Fanatics View, Briggs stressed that a fight against Tyson is not happening at this point given “Iron Mike” is more focused on big-money fights such as one with Logan Paul.

“Man, Mike Tyson doesn’t wanna fight me because he got bigger fish to fry. He’s making money, fighting hopefully Logan Paul, making some money, enough to live the rest of his life without having to worry. And that’s the most important part,” he said.

“Fighting me, probably ain’t you know, in the cards for him.”

Nevertheless, Briggs still wants a piece of Tyson, suggesting their ring encounter to be held at the state-of-the-art Barclays Center.

“Although I think it would be a great fight for Brownsville, Brooklyn. Can you imagine this Brooklyn? At the Barclays Center,” he stated.

This wasn’t the first time Briggs made bold claims about a fight with Tyson.

Last year, the former WBO heavyweight champion claimed that he has been working on his return and a fight against Tyson was already being discussed.

What’s even more shocking, Briggs said that it would be a “tag team” match in a “steel cage.”

“I’ve been talking to people all around the world, trying to put that deal together. I’m not only a boxer, but I’m also an entrepreneur and a businessman,” Briggs said of the possible fight with Tyson last year. “ It will be round-for-round. Literally tag team. And I think we should do it on steel cage. Steel cage match.”

“I’ll chop ‘em all! I put [Evander] Holyfield, chop him up in an exhibition. I’ll chop, what’s his name? [Wladimir] Klitschko. I’ll definitely chop David ‘Feathers’ [Haye]. I’ll make a chicken pita out of him."

As it stands, Tyson has confirmed that he is making a return in February and is currently heavily linked to a showdown with YouTuber-turned-pro boxer Logan Paul.

Nothing is concrete yet, but there has already been a lot of buzz about the said fight.

Briggs, on the other hand, has been eyeing a comeback but has yet to land an opponent.

He recently had a heated exchange with former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
