Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s rekindled romance is still going strong! And what better way to seal the deal for the hunky actor than by making sure that he also has his fiancée’s parents’ approval.

While speaking with People, Billy Ray Cyrus revealed that he immediately approved his daughter’s relationship with Hemsworth after he gave him a big surprise. “I love Liam so much. I was doing a show down in Nashville and Miley had been all over the world and she had been going nonstop. She and Liam surprised me at my show. She said, ‘Liam said,’ ‘Man, let’s go down and surprise your dad – let’s go!’ I told him – from now, forward and forever – he never has to get me a birthday or Christmas present; he’s paid in full,” he said.

On his Instagram account, Hemsworth also shared a photo of Cyrus during his performance and captioned the snap by calling the patriarch, “my man.” Hemsworth and the “Wrecking Ball” singer were together for a couple of years and were also engaged in 2012. However, they called off their wedding plans in 2013.

According to People, the couple got back together in early 2016 and decided to once again get engaged a few months later.

In May, the “Malibu” singer spoke with Billboard about her relationship with Hemsworth. According to the former Disney child star, she immersed herself in her work after she and Hemsworth called it quits the first time. “Yeah, but also ‘cause I needed to change so much. And changing with someone else not changing like that is too hard. Suddenly you’re like, ‘I don’t recognize you anymore.’ We had to refall for each other,” she said.

Cyrus also shared her inspiration for her latest track, “Malibu,” and said that it was somewhat about her fiancé. According to her, she wrote the song while she was in an Uber and tried to stop herself from singing because someone else was pooling with her. Despite the song being called “sentimental,” she said, “They’re going to talk about me if I come out of a restaurant with Liam. So why not put the power back in my relationship and say, ‘This is how I feel?’”
