Miley Cyrus is not a fan of Mariah Carey, and the “Voice” judge recently shared why she’s not fawning over the “Infamous” singer in an interview with Elle.

Cyrus said authenticity is of utmost importance to her, and that’s why she just can't get on board the Carey train. The “Wrecking Ball” singer said she is not exactly a fan of how Carey makes everything about her.

“That’s part of her shtick,” Cyrus said. “That’s part of what makes her a gay icon. Like, it’s about Mimi! It’s about what she’s wearing, and it’s about her.”

In contrast, Cyrus said her music is not about herself at all but about trying to connect with someone through her work and story.

Cyrus is not the first pop star in her age group to voice their dislike for Carey. Demi Lovato has also spoken out about not being a fan of the “Calling for Love” singer. Lovato commented on a meme comparing Carey to Ariana Grande, which says Carey is superior to Grande. Lovato said the person who posted it “got the wrong way around.”

Lovato explained her side, according to Billboard, saying: “This is why I posted what I did. Jen keeps it classy but I’m not afraid to say s***. The woman is mean for no reason. Extremely talented? Yes. Superhuman? Possibly. Unnecessarily rude? Absolutely.”

Getting tagged as a diva is not new to Carey. There have been various accounts of the singer’s out-of-the-ordinary antics. Most recently, a source told Page Six that the singer went to dinner with her fiancé James Packer in Capri, Italy, and “she had an entrance song.” The entire night the restaurant played only her hits, according to the source. While it seemed like an odd occurrence, Carey was reportedly in high spirits the entire time and even took pictures with some guests.
